Andrea Becker
I grew up in
Baltimore County and attended Riderwood Elementary, Ridgley Middle School and
Dulaney High School. I have always loved working with children and
began babysitting when I was twelve years old. As a senior in
high school I spent the mornings assisting at Riderwood Elementary in
a first grade classroom, went to classes at Dulaney High after lunch,
and was a member of the track team after school.
I graduated from Towson University with a dual major in Elementary Education
and Early Childhood Education. As a member of their track team I was a
long jumper and a triple jumper. This will be my fourth year teaching
first grade in Baltimore County. Teaching is a passion of mine and I love
to help students become lifelong learners.
I love playing sports such as kickball, football and volleyball. Much of
my down time is spent with my five year old puggle named Jarrett. He has
lots of energy and loves to snuggle.
I have recently visited Florida, California and Israel and hope to travel to
new and exciting destinations.

I grew up
in Toms River, New Jersey,
where I spent my summers at the beach! I went to
college at Penn State University at University Park where I grew to love
college football--We Are! I had my first teaching experience in Anne Arundel
County where I spent 5 years teaching third grade and 5 years teaching fourth
grade. I also received my master’s degree from McDaniel College during that
time. After spending some time in Annapolis I lived in Baltimore City and met
my husband, Peter, who I married during the summer of 2016. We have since moved
to Baltimore County with my two stepchildren, Luke and Mila. We love the beach
so we spend our summers visiting Bethany Beach and the Jersey Shore. I was
lucky to start working at Timonium Elementary during the 2016-17 school year
and I am loving my experience in first grade!

I grew up in the Hereford Zone in Baltimore
County. I knew early on that I always wanted to become a teacher. For
college, I attended Towson University where I graduated with degrees in
Elementary Education and in Deaf Studies. I began teaching in Baltimore
County in 2005. Throughout my career I have taught second grade for many
years and this year I have the opportunity to teach first. Desiring to
grow as a teacher, I received my Masters in Reading Education from Towson and
was privileged to attend the International Reading Association Conference in
Costa Rica. Teaching for me is more than a passion, it is an opportunity to
shape the next generation of teachers, authors, scientists, and engineers.
When I am not teaching I love spending time
with my husband and my two children, Jackson and Hailey. We love spending
time outside and during the summer we spend most of our time relaxing in Cape
May, New Jersey. I love traveling, although it is harder now with young
children. I enjoying cooking and doing crafts. I also love cheering
on my hometown teams- the Orioles and the Ravens.
I am excited about continuing my career
teaching at Timonium this fall.

I grew up in Timonium and attended
St. Joseph School,
Cockeysville and Notre Dame Preparatory High School. In May 2017, I graduated
from Loyola University Maryland earning my undergraduate degree in Elementary
Education and a minor in Special Education.
I have a true passion for working with children and have been working
with and creating bonds with children in Baltimore as well as in Haiti and El
Salvador.
This year I am
excited to start a new journey with the first graders coming into my
classroom. I have been given the
opportunity to encourage students who enter my room and will be creating long
lasting friendships.
