Meet the First Grade Teachers

Jenn Doyle

I grew up in the Hereford Zone attending all BCPS schools. I graduated from Frostburg University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Mrs. DoyleChildhood Education and earned a Master’s in Reading from Towson University.  I have been teaching since 2004. I taught kindergarten for 16 years and am currently teaching first grade. I am married and have two boys.

Interesting Facts about myself: My family lives on a Christmas tree farm. I lived in a tent for 2 months and traveled to over 30 National Parks in the United States and Canada. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends outdoors, gardening, camping, hiking, campfires, finding waterfalls, traveling, going to the beach, and am a BIG Ravens fan. I look forward to working with you and your family this year!

Laura Margiotta

Mrs. MargiottaI grew up in the Hereford Zone in Baltimore County.  I knew early on that I always wanted to become a teacher. For college, I attended Towson University where I graduated with degrees in Elementary Education and in Deaf Studies.  I began teaching in Baltimore County in 2005.  Throughout my career I have taught second grade for many years and this year I have the opportunity to teach first.  Desiring to grow as a teacher, I received my Masters in Reading Education from Towson and was privileged to attend the International Reading Association Conference in Costa Rica. Teaching for me is more than a passion, it is an opportunity to shape the next generation of teachers, authors, scientists, and engineers.

When I am not teaching I love spending time with my husband and my three children.  We love spending time outside and during the summer we spend most of our time relaxing in Cape May, New Jersey.  I love traveling, although it is harder now with young children.  I enjoying cooking and doing crafts.  I also love cheering on my hometown teams- the Orioles and the Ravens.

I am excited about continuing my career teaching at Timonium this fall.

I was born in the Timonium area and am a true Baltimorean at heart. Crabs, crab cakes, Berger’s cookies, THB and Old Bay are my favorite staples (and of course Chick-Fil-A)!
In May 2017, I graduated from Loyola University Maryland, earning my Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. In May 2022, I graduated from Towson University, earning my Master’s Degree in Special Education. When I am not teaching, I love adventures with family, exploring outdoors and traveling to new places.
Growing up I always knew that I had a passion for working with younger children. I value the connections I have made with younger generations through ministry locally in Baltimore as well as abroad in Haiti and El Salvador. My greatest accomplishment comes from the classroom where I have had the opportunity to educate and encourage students while creating long lasting relationships beyond our halls. I am excited to continue my journey with this year’s class at TES.
