Meet the Kindergarten Teachers

This is my 12th year as a teacher and my 1st year at Timonium. I previously taught 2nd grade before coming to Timonium and have been with BCPS for 13 years! I graduated from Towson University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and received my Master's degree from Loyola University in Educational Technology. I have two cats: Penelope Grace & Cami Mae, who I talk about A LOT. I also enjoy reading and traveling. Teaching has always been a calling for me. When I was younger, I loved school and hated being out sick. That love and passion has carried into my career and watching students grow and learn has been such a joy.

April Perich

I graduated from Emory University many years ago. Then I went on to get two master's degrees from Towson. I particularly enjoy teaching children to read and getting them excited about writing. I am a member of the Timonium community. I live with my husband and two daughters, so I do the taxi thing at night (feels like it). I enjoy running, quilting, and reading.

Angela Taylor

In 2009, I graduated from Towson Mrs. TaylorUniversity with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education/Special Education and began working towards my degree as a Reading Specialist right away.  I earned my Master’s Degree in 2011, as I finished my second year as a pre-kindergarten teacher.  In 2012, I began teaching kindergarten at Timonium Elementary school.  I knew early on that I wanted to become a teacher and as I am working now, I love my job!  I hope that I can inspire the love of learning onto my students as many of my teachers did for me.   When I am not working, I enjoy running half marathons, working out at the gym, reading and spending time in Ocean City with family and friends.

Andrea Schlissler

Mrs. SchlisslerI grew up in Baltimore County and attended Riderwood Elementary, Ridgley Middle School and Dulaney High School.  I have always loved working with children and began babysitting when I was twelve-years old.  As a senior in high school, I spent the mornings assisting at Riderwood Elementary in a first grade classroom, went to classes at Dulaney High after lunch, and was a member of the track team after school.

I received my undergraduate degree from Towson University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I earned my masters degree in Special Education from Towson University.   As a member of their track team, I was a long jumper and a triple jumper.  Teaching is a passion of mine and I love to help students become lifelong learners.

I love playing sports such as kickball, football, and volleyball. Much of my down-time is spent with dogs Effie and Marlee.

I love to travel and some of my favorite places include Florence, Paris, Israel, and California.

Aina Baker
Mrs. Baker

I have been an additional adult with BCPS since 2006, working with teachers and administrators to help students succeed academically.  I have worked with students with a wide range of abilities.  I am pleased to be working with the Kindergarten team and look forward to helping students achieve their personal best.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children, baking, walking my dog, watching movies, and going to the gym.
