Colleen Harle
I earned my Bachelor’s
of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University and
completed my Master’s of Education in Reading from Loyola University. I also
received a certificate in Educational Technology Leadership from Johns Hopkins
University. I am a certified Reading
Specialist which enables me to work with children from grades K to 12 but I
truly enjoy working with our county’s youngest students. I have a lifelong love of learning and I
hope to pass this passion onto the children who I work with every year.
I have been teaching
since 1994. Before starting here at Timonium, I worked at Battle Grove
Elementary.
I enjoy spending time
with my husband and our three daughters and when time allows, I enjoy knitting,
sewing, and quilting.

In 2009, I graduated from Towson
University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education/Special Education and began working towards my degree as a Reading Specialist right away. I earned my Master’s Degree in 2011, as I finished my second year as a pre-kindergarten teacher. In 2012, I began teaching kindergarten at Timonium Elementary school. I knew early on that I wanted to become a teacher and as I am working now, I love my job! I hope that I can inspire the love of learning onto my students as many of my teachers did for me. When I am not working, I enjoy running half marathons, working out at the gym, reading and spending time in Ocean City with family and friends.

I grew up in Baltimore County and attended Riderwood Elementary, Ridgley Middle School and Dulaney High School. I have always loved working with children and began babysitting when I was twelve years old. As a senior in high school I spent the mornings assisting at Riderwood Elementary in a first grade classroom, went to classes at Dulaney High after lunch, and was a member of the track team after school.
I received my undergraduate degree from Towson University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I earned my masters degree in Special Education from Towson University. As a member of their track team I was a long jumper and a triple jumper. Teaching is a passion of mine and I love to help students become lifelong learners.
I love playing sports such as kickball, football, and volleyball. Much of my down time is spent with dogs Effie and Marlee.
I love to travel and some of my favorite places include Florence, Paris, Israel, and California.

I have been an additional adult with BCPS
since 2006, working with teachers and administrators to help students succeed academically. I have worked with students with a wide range of abilities. I am pleased to be working with the Kindergarten team and look forward to helping students achieve their personal best.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children, baking, walking my dog, watching movies, and going to the gym.
