It only took three months in a cold call sales position for me to realize that I missed my calling to be a teacher. I have always loved being in a school environment, and the office building was not for me. I soon returned to Towson University to pursue my Masters of Art in Teaching for Elementary Education. My first job was in Harford County at Deerfield Elementary. I taught fifth grade for three years at Deerfield. I grew up in the Towson and Mays Chapel area and always wanted to teach in Baltimore County. It was always my dream to find a job closer to home and I am thrilled to be a part of Timonium Elementary!
I have had the opportunity to work with several grade levels at Timonium, thriving in the opportunities that each grade level brings! After spending my first year at Timonium teaching in fifth grade, I decided that I wanted to experience teaching in a primary grade and made the move down to first grade! I enjoyed an amazing year filled with new experiences in first grade, but decided to make the shift up to fourth grade when a position opened up. After a few great years in fourth grade, I am excited for this new adventure in second grade at Timonium!

I was born and raised in California and I came to
Maryland by way of Portland, Oregon where my two children were born. I
graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Journalism and I worked
in advertising for 11 years before my move to the east coast. I began teaching
in 2003 and I received my Master's in Education Leadership from the College of
Notre Dame of Maryland in 2010 and a Master’s degree in Reading
Education at Towson University in 2016.
I’m an avid walker. I also enjoy reading, watching
sports, and traveling with my friends.
As a second grade teacher, I am blessed to help
young children develop a love of reading and writing. It is truly amazing to
watch them grow into confident thinkers and responsible and respectful young citizens.
I look forward to working with your children and watching them blossom
this year.

I grew up
in York, Pennsylvania and went to Penn State University. I am a college
football fan at heart but will always support the Ravens on any given Sunday. I
started my teaching career in Northern Virginia where I taught first grade in
Prince William County. I missed home and decided to move back to Pennsylvania.
I began teaching 4th grade at Pot Spring Elementary as a long-term substitute.
From there, I was hired at Fort Garrison Elementary where I have been for the
past 5 years, two in 4th grade and three in 2nd grade. I have a strong passion
for teaching reading and helping students succeed! I am excited to embark on my
new journey as a Timonium Dolphin and become part of the amazing school family
and community.
